Biography
Benoît Moerlen

Benoît Moerlenstudies the percussions to the Academy of Strasbourg with Jean Batigne. He begins his career in 1975 to the Atelier du Rhin (P. Barrat). He joins then the group Gong for 3 years, moves on with Mike Oldfield for 2 years and returns then to the theatrical domain. During several years numerous companies appeal to him (Les Fédérés, l'Attroupement, le Scarface...) In 87, 88, he rejoins Gong and Mike Oldfield and exploits the new possibilities offered by the electronics and the computers, then dedicates himself to the study and the practice of the micro-tonal music with Jon Catler and H. Rowe. During the 90s, he composes several musics for Scarface, takes up the Gongzilla band to the United States with which he records 4 CD.
